david hyde pierce

MODERN technology makes the classic Frankenstein tale all the more creepy, as we are all aware of just how far cloning advances have come in recent years.

Helen McCrory plays Victoria Frankenstein, who finds that her work in stem cell research has far-reaching and upsetting results.

James Purefoy, Neil Pearson and Lindsay Duncan provide sterling support.

Heroes

BBC2, 9.00pm

THIS utterly gripping science fiction series has been one of the best discoveries of the year, and with one third of the series left to run, I'm already awaiting series two, which has started in America.

Tonight, Peter learns he and Claude have been betrayed while Matt is reunited with the radioactive Ted Sprague and Hana Gitelman, a woman with "wireless" mental abilities.

The Simpsons

Channel 4, 6.00pm

THIS is possibly the best ever Simpsons guest star appearance, even though you probably won't recognise the mystery celeb's name - David Hyde Pierce.

But you will recognise his voice when you put it together with the return of Kelsey Grammar as evil wannabe killer Sideshow Bob - Hyde Pierce is best known for his part as Niles Crane, on screen brother of Grammar is his series Frasier.

He plays Bob's brother Cecil, who promises to help evil Bob rehabilitate when he is released from jail.

Bart is convinced the conniving Bob is up to no good, and is determined to prove it.

Michael Jackson: What Really Happened

Channel 4, 10.00pm

TWO years ago, Michael Jackson was acquitted of child molestation, but instead of returning to his Neverland home, he disappeared, wandering the globe.

Writer Jacques Peretti wanted to find out why, and in so doing, get to the truth of what drove Jackson to spectacular self-destruction.

Peretti tracks down the people inside the story who have never agreed to talk on camera before, including Bob Jones, his manager and right-hand man of 17 years and Victor Guttierez, the investigative reporter who first uncovered allegations of child abuse.

Coronation Street

ITV, 7.30pm

WHILE everyone is relieved when Jason is discharged from hospital, Bill is suspicious about why the previously solid scaffolding would just suddenly collapse and realises that it's been tampered with.

He and Jason instantly suspect David and Jason informs Gail and Sarah that evil David told him a while ago that he wished they were all dead.

Gail's horrified and her attempts at denial are feeble as she realises she has to put an end to his reign of terror once and for all...
